COACHING REQUIREMENTS FOR ELEMENTARY PROGRAM

Prior experience is not required to be a coach for our youth wrestling program.

Coaches are required to submit 2 clearances to the program: State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History

Coaches will be given these forms at Sign-Ups

Please have these forms submitted & turned in to our program as soon as possible. Use the link provided below and at the bottom of that page you will find the two forms that you will need.

Please note: If you already have these forms on file with our program and are currently an active coach, you do not need to re-submit these forms.

However, if you have not met the requirements for an Active Coach for the previous season, you must re-submit for all of your clearances to the State in order to be permitted to be considered as an active coach again. In addition, if you did not have a Penn-Trafford Area III Coaches pass last season, you must re-submit both clearances. (Must be new clearances, cannot be copies of old clearances from past years.) There are no exceptions to this rule. If you are not sure if you were an Active Penn Trafford Coach last season, please contact us via e-mail.

To be considered as an Active Coach in our program, you must be able to participate in 50% of PT Jr Wrestling Practices.

Active coaches are expected to coach all children in our program and not just their child or children. Active coaches are to coach wrestlers from Penn Trafford only and not wrestlers from other school districts.

Only Active Coaches in our program are able to obtain a Coaches Pass to Coach at the Area III Tournament. Please remember that if you meet the requirements for an Area III Coaches Pass, that you must keep your coaches pass visible at all times during areas and you are only permitted to coach wrestlers from the Penn Trafford Program. PLEASE NOTE:You are not permitted to give your coaches pass to anyone. If you are caught giving your pass to another person, you will be asked to leave the Tournament and will not be permitted to coach.

Coaches are responsible for Set-Up and Tear-Down of all home matches or tournaments.

When we have a home match or tournament, coaches are required to stay until the conclusion of the event.

WRESTLING ROOM HELPER

If you do not have the time to be considered an Active Coach, you can be a Wrestling Room Helper. Helpers are always more than welcome to assist during practices in our wrestling room.

Clearances are still required, and you can assist in the room as little or as much as you would like to.

Helpers are permitted to Coach at Keystone Matches and are also expected to coach all children in our program and not just their own child or children. Helpers are also to coach Penn Trafford wrestlers only at the Keystone Matches and not wrestlers from other school districts. Helpers cannot obtain a Coaches Pass to Coach at the Area III Tournament unless you have met all of the requirements for Active Coach as listed above.

If you have had an alcholic beverage after work, we would please ask that you refrain from coming to practice that evening. Remember that you are a role model for our wrestlers.
